Core Beliefs, Guiding Principles & Values

United

Our organization is guided by our shared core beliefs, guiding principles and values.

01

Reliability

We believe in being reliable in our service to the community.

02

Self-Discovery

We believe DCMC – Center for Universal Artisans and Humanities is responsible for offering opportunities for self-discovery through artistic expression.

03

Authenticity

We believe in our mission statement and stand by it and these core values regardless of the occasion, circumstance, company or location.

04

Joyfulness

We believe life is too short to focus on anything that does not bring us joy.

05

Autonomy

We strive to be an open-minded community of artists, makers and members, and promote freedom from ridicule and fear of self-expression that doesn’t cause harm to self or others.

06

Abundance

We believe our community is capable of problem-solving through creativity and innovation rather than through pessimism and frustration.

07

Benevolence

We believe in showing compassion, empathy and kindness.

08

Diversity & Inclusion

We believe in order for DCMC to be successful, we must strive to be totally inclusive and encourage collaboration among many cultures, ages, races, religions, sexual orientations and gender identities.

09

Mindfulness

We believe we should provide meaningful, quality service to the community and to one another, understanding that every action we take has an impact on nature, our friends and our future. Our decisions should strive to cut our carbon footprint, and work to serve the underprivileged or those who feel they have no voice.

10

Safety

We believe anything is possible, but safety and concern for one’s well-being, including their mental, emotional and physical health, is a priority while changing the world.

11

Temperance

We believe in showing mutual respect and demonstrating restraint in verbal judgments, accusations or frustrations. There is nothing too important that we cannot take a moment to breathe and gather our thoughts and emotions, and then behave in a professional manner.
